Today I still have my ups and downs, but I am in CONTROL OF MY LIFE.

I decided to share what I learned with other people. I don't want others to struggle to find the information the way I did. If I can help even one person it will be worth the effort.

I read a lot of psychological/motivational stuff that was difficult to get any value from. It was either clinical and technical, or full of hollow "you can do it..." cheerleading.

Neither really helped me.

I had to dig DEEPER, and I had to get info from VARIETY of places (psychological textbooks, podcasts, video, documentaries, biographies, friends' advice, group therapy, individual counseling, interviews, meditating, just observing people in everyday life). I finally took all of these separate parts and combined them to ask myself the right questions.

I decided that it wasn't working to listen to someone else who didn't know me try to give me ANSWERS. The answers didn't work because they didn't know enough about where I was in my life. Once I had the ability to ask myself the right QUESTIONS I found the answers for myself.

I’m not a psychologist, social worker or lawyer trying to get rich off your pain and suffering. I am a father that has lived through personal and financial devastation by the divorce industry.

See, up until September 20, 2006 (the day I was hit with a FRAUDULENT RESTRAINING ORDER by my ex) I was in heaven. I had a life that most people would dream of. I had accomplished a lot, including:

Serving my country as a Captain in the Marines
Leading men in combat in the first Gulf War with the 2nd Marine Division, which helped liberate Kuwait City
Going to Wall Street as a trader and working for the largest investment bank in the world
Achieving a level of economic success that put me in the top 1% of all wage earners in the country
Marrying my first wife, and during a seemingly happy sixteen year marriage having four wonderful children

... but then - BAM!

Everything changed right underneath my nose. It was like I was attacked blindfolded with my hands tied behind my back. I didn’t see it coming and when I was hit with a divorce and a restraining order that prevented me from seeing my children – I felt helpless.

I went through close to 2 years of Restraining Order Hell. Here’s how I suffered…

Based upon a single FALSE ACCUSATION, I was slapped with a fraudulent restraining order where I was subjected to potential criminal prosecution for close to two years until I could prove my innocence. I was under the constant threat of jail if I violated the order in any way. That's right, if you violate a Restraining Order you GO TO JAIL!
After I went through the first hearing, my children were placed on the order without any reason given. That meant that I would not be allowed to visit with them until the date of my next hearing four months later. That tore my insides apart as I was extremely close to my children. Even during the separation, I spoke with my children on the phone every night. I saw them almost every weekend. I fought as hard as I could to object the restraining order. That’s’ why the Judge showed me what she thought was mercy by allowing me to call my ex’s cell phone between 6-8 pm each night.

But my ex never answered her cell phone.

My lawyer wrote my ex’s lawyer a letter complaining about the lack of contact and he responded that even though the order said I could call, it did not say she had to answer. I was shocked that a lawyer could be so petty and callous. He knew that my children wanted to speak with me but it was just a game to him.
I went through complete and total embarrassment when I was first served with my fraudulent restraining order as I had two cops come to my door unannounced. They treated me like a piece of dirt as they entered my home and rifled through my belongings looking for weapons without any concern that they were violating my constitutional rights. I felt angry and violated.
My son did not speak to me for 11 months because his mother told him I did not want to see him or buy him anything for Christmas. The first Christmas after my order was issued, my oldest son was asking for a fishing pole for a present. When I asked my lawyer how I should send gifts to my kids, he told me I could not. I was crushed that I could not send them any gifts.

But, I simply could not.

First, it was a violation of the no contact provision that’s included in all restraining orders.

Second, if I sent a present to my children, my ex could say there was a threatening message to her included in the package. And, when I tried to explain to my son that I was not allowed to send a gift, my son did not believe me. My ex actually told him that I just did not want to send him a present. I was angry and hurt. I could not believe that my son thought I was lying.
I got frustrated being the only one playing by the rules. I wanted to pull all of my hair out when my ex told all of my children that I did not want to see them. Even though it took me four (4) court hearings to re-establish visitation with them, my ex was telling them that I just did not have time for them. To this day, despite everything I have done to get them back in my life, I am sure they still believe her lies to a certain extent.
I couldn’t even be at my son’s side during his time of need. One Sunday morning, I receive a phone call that my son was being hospitalized and that he wanted me to come see him. My son was so adamant in the hospital that he wanted to speak with me, I am sure that’s the only reason why I was informed. I bet my ex didn’t want a mandatory reporter to document that he wasn’t permitted to speak with me. In any event, when he told me he was ill I immediately dropped everything and made the 4-hour trip from NJ to Massachusetts.

On my way to the hospital, my former father in-law called me and told me that I was not allowed to come to the hospital. He said that since my ex-wife was there that it would be a violation of the order. I was incensed. I could not believe that my son needed me to be by his side in the hospital and my ex father in-law was telling me I could not be there. In an irrational moment, I told my ex-father in law that not only was I coming but that he had better have enough law enforcement there if he wanted to try to stop me from seeing my son.

When I got to the emergency room, there were three police officers waiting there for me. They told me that my ex had left the building for 20 minutes and that if I was still there when she got back they would arrest me.

They looked like they would have enjoyed it.
The court prevented me from seeing my children for almost a year. My children were moved to another state against my wishes and I was forced to move away from all of my friends and family to pursue my case for custody. When I finally won the right to see my children, it could only happen under the watchful eye of a visitation supervisor in a sterile government facility for two hours every two weeks.

So, why would my Ex do such a despicable thing to me and our children you might ask?

Here Are Just 4 Of The 13 Ulterior Motives My Ex Had For Seeking A Protective Order Against Me:

To keep me from my children as a cruel punishment.
To quickly get custody of my children without a hearing. Yes, this is possible and you won’t get your children back if you don’t know what to do.
To control and manipulate me.

I could go on - in fact you probably can't imagine nine things worse than these - but trust me, it happened to me as you'll see in Restraining Order 911.

Needless to say, she accomplished every one of her objectives. I suffered for close to 20 months until I was able to gather enough evidence to prove my innocence.

So, how did I clear my name?

I’m not going to lie to you. I’m going to tell point blank -- it wasn't easy. When I was first served with the restraining order, I was scared and confused. I had no idea how the system worked. All I knew was if I tried to see or contact my kids that I’d go to jail. When I asked my lawyer (who I was paying $350 an hour) questions, he refused to answer me. He actually told me, "I'm not here to give you a legal education." At that moment, I knew I had to take control over my own destiny and take action.

So I fired my lawyer. And, I had to keep finding and firing lawyers. Eventually I was fortunate enough to find another lawyer who did answer my questions. While the other lawyers were part of the "Divorce Industry," my new one turned out to be one in a million! Not only did he stay with me through 4 hearings and an appeal until I could prove my innocence, he also taught me the tips I share in Restraining Order 911.

There are 3 main aspects to my father's work:

Problem-solving: He begain his research in 1944 to solve a problem when we brought home some bad grades.

His study of psychology led him to hypnosis, and thus he was able to develop techniques we could use to make stronger impressions on our brain neurons, and improve our memory, leading to better test scores and higher grades.

Sure enough, when he asked her about things that even he did not know the answer to, she could give him the correct information. So he began to investigate the research that had been done into ESP.

I am the oldest of his 10 children, so in addition to being a research subject, I observed and recorded much of his work with my brothers and sisters and other people here in Laredo during his 22 years of scientific research.

Jose Silva studied all of the research and all of the ideas he could find regarding psychology, parapsychology, hypnosis, intuition, holistic faith healing, and other problem solving techniques. His personal library contained thousands of books.

He accumulated thousands of books so he could study the top scientists and the business and professional leaders of the day, who recognized that ultra successful people are able to detect information with their mind, that is not available to their physical senses - and not available to the average person.

Napoleon Hill, whose research into the wealthiest and most successful people of his day was sponsored by billionaire Andrew Carnegie, said, in his landmark Reading Course in the Law of Success in 1928, that the brain is like a radio sending and receiving station.

Dr. J.B. Rhine conducted many years of research at Duke University to confirm that some people had what he called an "extra sense."

But neither Hill nor Rhine nor anybody else could come up with a way to teach people how to do this.

By 1953, my father knew he had found a way to teach all of us how to use our natural intuition to detect information that we can use to make better decisions, correct problems, and avoid mistakes.

After another dozen years of perfecting his system, he offered all his reserch, free of charge, to the US government. They said they saw no value in ESP and turned him down.

If you are like me, you have probably wondered what it is that makes some people so much more successful than others.

Being born to wealth and privilege doesn't guarantee success in life, nor does growing up in poverty condemns one to failure.

Success doesn't depend on how much or how little formal education you have, and it never has. The ultra successful people often aren't smarter than everybody else, nor do they work harder or have more desire.

So what is the difference between the ultra successful and the average person?

We have found 4 characteristics common to the Ultra Successful people:

Relax and relieve stress, to maintain a sort of self mind control so that they can use more of their energies and emotions to help them achieve success

They are able to use their subconscious to work for them rather than against them, so that they can overcome impediments and limitations and move towards success like a magnet seeking out the North Pole

Definite chief aim in life, a life purpose, a mission that drives them

Use their intuition to help them make better decisions and fewer mistakes, and to obtain guidance from the same higher power that all ultra successful people acknowledge guides them

Learn to meditate like a monk in 2 days

Uncontrolled stress can hurt your health, hamper your relationships, curtail your ability to concentrate and learn, lower your productivity and creativity and problem solving ability, and undermine your self-confidence and happiness. There is an old saying that "Mind guides brain and brain guides body." Does science bear this out? Yes it does. He is a simple experiment you can do to demonstrate it to yourself (you will need a friend to help you).

Hold one arm out straight to your side, parallel to the floor, hand open, thumb pointing down. Have your friend test your strength by pushing your arm down while you resist. (If you are too strong for your friend, then test your strength by forming a circle with the thumb and first finger of either of your hands, holding them tightly together and seeing if your friend can pull them apart.)

Now relax for a moment. When you are ready, hold your arm out again in the same position but this time think about a time when you lost, when you were defeated and humiliated, when you felt terrible about your loss. While holding this thought, have your friend test your strength again. This time your friend will find it much easier to push your arm down.

Relax again. Then think about your most recent victory, a very satisfying success, one that you are proud of. Once again have your friend test your strength. You will be much stronger when thinking about success.

Have your friend test your strength as you think about different experiences, different people and your experiences with them. You will find that when you are confident, you are strong; when you have doubts, you are weak. Your mind definitely controls your body by directing and regulating the neurotransmitters in your brain.

Since then I’ve worked as a professional trainer with my own business for over 8 years.

I’ve worked with literally hundreds of dogs, trained under famous dog trainers like Jean Donaldson and Ken Ramirez.

I’m a certified dog trainer with the San Francisco SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers and also a professional marine mammal trainer.

I belong to the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the International Marine Animal Trainers' Association.

My constant involvement in the industry has led to numerous personal and professional contacts within the dog training community.

Not very effective, is it? You’ve got to remember kids think differently, so...

Give them permission to be good.
Lets look at these minor corrections.
Instead of “Stop eating Junk food” Say, “Eat these yummy carrot sticks”
Instead of “ Why are you yelling”, say, “lets talk in quite voices for a minute”

2. Stop asking WHY!

Guys, seriously. Do you really think your child is going to give you a rational explanation?

Example: little Sarah hits her baby brother for no apparent reason. Mom asks, “Why did you hit him Sarah?”

This is what Sarah is NOT going to say, “Well, first I was playing with clay. I had a hard time making it look like a rocking chair so I got frustrated. My brother was nearby so I took out my anger on him.”

NO WAY!

Secret: There is no truly rational explanation for your child’s behavior, stop looking for one!

Instead, ask HOW.
Let’s redo our conversation with Sarah, shall we?
Sarah, “How did hitting your baby brother make you feel about yourself?”
Expect to see shame, even defiance in a reply. That’s OK.
Then ask, “Can you think of other ways of being mad?”
And offer positive suggestions.

3. Focus on the IMPORTANT things and the other things will fix themselves

Right now, your child is acting up for a reason that makes sense only to your child.

Nine times out of ten, that reason is because they feel THREATENED a situation and just need positive attention and love.

Your job is NOT to stop the tantrums, yelling and other irritating behavior, but to make him or her feel SECURE. I can’t emphasize this enough.

Give them the gift of knowing they are secure, that your love is not going anywhere.

Lets look at this situation from their lens: you want to go out to dinner with your new man.
You see it as a quite respite from single mother-hood.

You kid sees it as “MOMMY is leaving me, and if that happens, who is going to feed me? Who is going to protect me? Who is going to love me? I must stop her from leaving. For my own survival”.

Think I’m exaggerating that one? NOPE. I asked my daughter about it years later. And this is EXACTLY what she told me she was thinking at the time.

Secret: Address the Security Issue First

I’m not going to give a way all the secrets, just know that there is a way of making your child feel safe, instantly, DIRECTLY into their unconscious mind.
For now, I’ll just say that you can use the positive permission language from the other secrets to get it across. It might sound like this:
“I know you are upset, but guess what, when I get back, you and Mommy are going to (fill in the blank of their favorite thing to do with you)”. Then just walk away. Seriously.
