Let’s say you own a restaurant and an average regular customer spends $35 each time they visit you, of which $25 is real profit. Let’s say they return 12 times per year and stay with you for 2 years … on average. This means your regular customer is worth $25 x 12 x 2 = $600 in profit to your business.

You can use this method in any business – hairdressers, real estate, chiropractic, car sales, computers, plumbers… it applies for any business. When you know the life time value of your average customer, you know how much you can afford to spend to acquire new customers!

Here’s another example: hairdressers. Listen up. To get new more customers, most salons place ads in magazines, print up glossy brochures and offer weak discount specials like 10 or 20% off. Often the results are poorer than poor.

Is there a better way? You bet. Do you remember Stefan Ackerie of Stefan’s Hair Salon fame? He owned a chain of hair salons across Australia some years ago. Anyway, Stefan was a smart cookie. He knew the average client spent $25 each visit, of which, $17 was real profit. Client’s returned 10 times a year for 4 years , on average. Total profit: $17 x 10 x 4 = $680.

Knowing these figures do you think Stefan ran the same old tired promotions? Not a chance in hell! He gave away FREE style cuts to anybody he could. You see, he also knew 50% of people who received a free style cut became regular customers. So for the initial investment of $8 in labour costs, he was able to make a profit of $680 over the next four years! And if he serviced these clients well, they in turn, told their friends.

     Initially, I had to make her realize that she was contributing to her problem by dating only men that were “exciting” to her -- and didn't necessarily have the qualities that were important to her. Was it any wonder that those relationships never ended up in marriage? It took Susan a few months to accept the fact that her dream man might not appear to be her dream man upon the first encounter.

     In the past, she had often dismissed most of her dates after just one encounter whenever she didn't feel that "instant chemistry" with them.      She wanted a man to be strong, independent and caring -- which were qualities that none of the "exciting" men she used to date possessed.

...you have an ineffective pattern regarding your relationships with men. Patterns don't lie.

A pattern is a combination of behaviors, thoughts, emotions, actions, qualities and tendencies forming a consistent arrangement that generally brings about a predictable result.

Just as there is a pattern in some teenagers that causes them to consume alcohol; a pattern in career people that causes them to find only bad jobs; a pattern that causes individuals to have anxiety in public speaking; so too, is there a pattern that causes women to be unsuccessful at finding their dream man or an ideal mate.

This pattern, which runs on auto-pilot, usually beneath the radar of your awareness, makes you unconsciously sabotage your deepest desire to find love.

The good news is that once you identify the ineffective pattern and replace it with an effective one, there is a very high probability that you will find, attract and have a successful relationship with the man of your dreams.

Yes -- believe it or not, it's as simple as that!

The problem that most single women have is that they don't know the difference between an effective pattern regarding relationships and an ineffective, self-sabotaging pattern. In fact, most women don't even know that they have a pattern in the first place!

"Why do I always attract the wrong kind of men?"

     In February 2004, Melissa J. wanted to quit dating altogether. She was 37, had been dating continuously since she was 16 -- and she was sick to death of the dating scene. In the last 21 years, she'd had two boyfriends that lasted more than a year, and the rest lasted only a few weeks to a few months apiece. She was so depressed because all her girlfriends had already gotten married and she was the only one who remained single. And yet she dreaded dating yet another guy because she believed that all men were jerks and all the good ones were already taken. She began believing the cruel joke that says, "It's more likely for a single woman over 35 to be killed by terrorists than to be married."

     While outwardly, Melissa maintained the attitude that there was something wrong with all men in general -- deep inside, she felt there was something wrong with her. "Why do I always attract the wrong kind of men?" she wondered. It was only after she became aware of her self-sabotaging pattern (see How to Find the Man of Your Dreams) that she was able to replace it with an effective one. Her new pattern created just a slight shift in her mindset -- and yet the results were incredible.

     Within weeks of changing her pattern, she had a string of wonderful eligible men competing for her attention. After dating a few, she quickly discovered that one of them, George M., was the real deal -- the man of her dreams! She began seeing George exclusively in May 2004 -- and on Valentine's Day 2005, 10 months after their first date, he proposed marriage and she happily accepted.

What You Want -- versus What You Think You Want -- in a Man

Earlier on, I asked you to pick the top 3 attributes or traits of your dream man. Hopefully, you did that little fun exercise at the top of this page.

Now, listen closely.

Just because you picked the top 3 qualities of your dream man does not mean those are the things you want in a man.

Now, I can almost hear you say, "Huh?" Let me explain.

The top 3 things you answered are what you think you want in a man -- and not necessarily what you really want in a man.

                    what they really want.

No wonder they can't find their dream man! There's a big discrepancy between the two.

I'm sure you've known women who've gushed about finding their dream man -- saying he has all the things they've been looking for. And yet later on, they find out that their dream man turns out to be Mr. Wrong. Perhaps this has even happened to you?

This all has to do with the ineffective pattern I spoke of earlier. You have an unconscious pattern of being attracted to an imaginary picture of an "ideal" man that, in reality, is completely wrong for you.

What good is having a tall, dark and handsome man, for instance, if he's not good for you? What's the use of having a boyfriend with a great sense of humor if he also has traits that you can't stand? Would you want to be married to a romantic, sweet and affectionate man if he has issues that are intolerable to you?

While it's impossible to find a man that is perfect in every way, you can find a man who has all the qualities that are truly important to you, and with whom you have the highest likelihood of being happy.

I've found that when I've given women a simple exercise involving the traits of a man that truly matter a lot to them, they began to realize that the things they thought they couldn't live without weren't nearly as important as they thought.

I'm sure you've known women who, upon meeting a man who did not seem to have the ideal qualities she wanted, ended up falling in love with the man and living happily ever after. Many such women admit that if they had not gotten over their petty ideals of male perfection, they would not have found the love of their life.

Doe this mean you have to "settle" for someone who is not as great a man as you want to have?

No, not at all. You never have to compromise what you absolutely must have in a man in order to get a man who is good for you. This is not at all like wanting a tasty filet mignon but getting a bland dish of steamed broccoli instead just because it's good for you. Give them permission to be good.

Instead of “Stop eating Junk food” Say, “Eat these yummy carrot sticks”
Instead of “ Why are you yelling”, say, “lets talk in quite voices for a minute”

2. Stop asking WHY!

Guys, seriously. Do you really think your child is going to give you a rational explanation?

Example: little Sarah hits her baby brother for no apparent reason. Mom asks, “Why did you hit him Sarah?”

This is what Sarah is NOT going to say, “Well, first I was playing with clay. I had a hard time making it look like a rocking chair so I got frustrated. My brother was nearby so I took out my anger on him.”

NO WAY!

Secret: There is no truly rational explanation for your child’s behavior, stop looking for one!

Instead, ask HOW.
Let’s redo our conversation with Sarah, shall we?
Sarah, “How did hitting your baby brother make you feel about yourself?”
Expect to see shame, even defiance in a reply. That’s OK.
Then ask, “Can you think of other ways of being mad?”
And offer positive suggestions.

3. Focus on the IMPORTANT things and the other things will fix themselves

Right now, your child is acting up for a reason that makes sense only to your child.

Nine times out of ten, that reason is because they feel THREATENED a situation and just need positive attention and love.

Your job is NOT to stop the tantrums, yelling and other irritating behavior, but to make him or her feel SECURE. I can’t emphasize this enough.

Give them the gift of knowing they are secure, that your love is not going anywhere.

Lets look at this situation from their lens: you want to go out to dinner with your new man.
You see it as a quite respite from single mother-hood.

You kid sees it as “MOMMY is leaving me, and if that happens, who is going to feed me? Who is going to protect me? Who is going to love me? I must stop her from leaving. For my own survival”.

Think I’m exaggerating that one? NOPE. I asked my daughter about it years later. And this is EXACTLY what she told me she was thinking at the time.

Secret: Address the Security Issue First

I’m not going to give a way all the secrets, just know that there is a way of making your child feel safe, instantly, DIRECTLY into their unconscious mind.
For now, I’ll just say that you can use the positive permission language from the other secrets to get it across. It might sound like this:
“I know you are upset, but guess what, when I get back, you and Mommy are going to (fill in the blank of their favorite thing to do with you)”. Then just walk away. Seriously.

Search Engine Optimization. What an overused phrase that is. Everyone and his uncle has an opinion about what SEO is - and most of them contradict one another.

SEO should really stand for Search Engine Optimism because the way most people go about it is 80% hype and 20% hope.

As you read ebooks, blogs and forums about Internet marketing you'll come across all kinds of advice. From the number of times you should repeat a keyword in an article to the number of words that your webpage should have on it. (1-3% and 500 words are common suggestions). From the supporting words you should use on page to whether you should bother with meta tags.

But how do you know if all that well-meaning advice really reflects what the SE's want? After all, Google don't make public their algorithm and neither do the other search engines. They keep their trade secrets very close to their chests.

The Spice Girls may have sung 'tell us what you want, what you really, really want', but I bet they weren't singing it to Google! But now there is a new program that you can install on your own server that will let you see inside the search engines to discover vital clues about what they actually want. For your specific niche.

You see, the thing that most of the so-called SEO 'experts' fail to mention is that every niche has different dynamics. In other words, the advice to have 500 words on your page with your primary keyword at a density of 1-3% may hold true for one niche, but another may require pages of 1000 words with a keyword density of 0.5%. And yet another niche may need pages of 300 words with keyword densities of 5%.

Until now, detailed 'intelligence' like that has been very hard to come by and very expensive if you can even find it.

Within seconds, at the click of a single button, you'll discover, for example, that for the niche 'digital camera' the average site in Google's top-10 has 1845 words with a keyphrase density of 0.9%. Have a think ... how many times have you done this?

Opened up Google (or your favourite search engine), typed in a keyword for a niche you are researching and had a quick look at the top 10 sites. The next thing you start wondering is, how did those top 5 get to be where they are or alternatively, maybe you have a site on page 2 or 3 and would like to be above the fold on page one.

Generally speaking there are just two answers: the right keywords and the right links.

When all is said and done links are easy enough to handle if you put in the time and effort required but being able to spy on the keywords used by the top 100 sites in all major search engines has up until now been in the domain of the well heeled. For the little guy the cost has been prohibitive to source such information.

So just when you thought it would be impossible for someone to come up with another keyword tool highly respected English internet marketer Martin Avis has done just that.

Very recently I was introduced to his specialist tool called Keyword LSI Spy.

Where does LSI come in?

Latent Semantic Indexing is a very sophisticated system that that search engines have started to use that assesses the importance of a webpage according to the words that are used on it.

At its simplest, a page about 'horse riding' would be expected to use horse-related words like:

But when we sit down to write articles or web pages, we often forget about those related words and concentrate our thoughts on the primary keyword or phrase that we've set ourselves. We end up with 5-600 words that are tightly focused on 'horse riding' and forget that the search engines expect a much richer reading experience - and are now sophisticated enough to tell if we are not providing it!

Google themselves make a half-hearted attempt to provide LSI words - just type any word into the Google search box with a tilde (~) in front of it and related words will be displayed in the search result in bold. Unfortunately this method only shows up a handful of LSI words, at best.
